Mothers - For the Weary One

Anonymous

For those that know me, I love being a mom. I truly treasure the three precious gifts I have been
given, however there are moments where I long for some time - time in a day to catch my breath, to
not always be needed - and yet I know it won’t always be like this. Pausing and taking a look around, we can’t help but be struck by how different the world seems to have become, and how some days, just being an adult feels weighty, let alone having the capacity to love, nurture and care for our children. In these moments of weariness, I have to encourage myself
that whilst it can feel like a tough season, a season of pouring yourself out for these little people...I am not alone nor is it ever in vain! There is a call to look up, raise my gaze, my focus, breathe and take courage that He sees and loves me...

1I look up to the mountains—Where does my help come from?
2My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth!
(Psalm 121:1-2)

And so, to all of the beautiful, weary ones ... be encouraged - As we look to Him, may we be reminded that He is our refuge, our fortress and a safe place in which we can hide. (Psalm 62:2)

As we look to him may we be reminded that He is the JOY of our salvation. (Psalm 51:12)
As we look to Him may we be reminded that He is our strength and may we not grow weary in doing
good as we raise the children we have been entrusted with. (Galatians 6:9)
As we look to Him may we be reminded that He is always with us and will never leave or forsake us. (Hebrews 13:5)

As we look to Him may we be reminded that He cares for us and our families.. (1 Peter 5:7)
And as a final encouragement I am reminded of the words Jesus spoke to his disciples in a time when
they too, felt overwhelmed at the circumstances in which they were finding themselves.

John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to
you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every
circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.] AMP

And so, on this day, we celebrate you Moms! We celebrate the JOY you bring to your homes and we pray that you would feel rivers of new life flowing from within as you lean into Him and allow Him to be the source from which all else flows.
