COVID CHANGED THE WORLD.
The wake of economic, social and emotional disruption will linger not only as a memory but a forever reality as one considers how mainstream media, with its plethora of social media cousins, jumped on the bandwagon to push a panic agenda. Confused messages from the scientific world helped politicians take advantage of a newfound power to control the masses. It was a season where death and despair revealed themselves as two distorted figures playing a sick duet, harmonising to their newfound dirge.
The Church was massively impacted by lockdown resulting in much being put on hold until the favoured herd immunity could be reached.
This training manual is aimed at being a reference book for the NCCB ministry team. It was based on training conducted at the end of 2021 and has been collated by Claudia & Cameron McGregor, elders and leaders of the NCCB Ministry team.
This document is intended for ministry team members and those who have a desire to become a part of what God is doing. To have a playbook for easy referral that reminds us of our values, our model and God’s desire to always heal even when we don’t feel like it.
This resource helps us to understand more on the context of fasting; scriptures on fasting; faith is the key ingredient; learning from others; things to pray into; preparing to fast. “And when you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces so that their fasting may be seen by others.” Matthew 6:16.
This journey is six weeks long and provides the opportunity for you to embark on your own mini-pilgrimage of spiritual formation. Each of us walks around with some form of brokenness in our lives. However, as the Apostle Paul notes, we are being transformed into the image of Christ, through the presence of the Holy Spirit, from one degree of glory to another (2 Cor. 3:18).
The journey is designed to be conducted in a small group environment, where each week, you will be invited to consider a different topic related to your spiritual GROWTH. From the very start of the journey, you will be challenged to allow God’s transformative work to disrupt the normal and comfortable patterns you may find yourself in.
As a church family we hold firmly to the belief that God’s healing power and miracles are available for us today. Throughout Scripture we read that Jesus went preaching the gospel of the kingdom, healing the sick and driving out demons. And it is emphasized in the gospel of Mark that these signs shall follow those who believe. Mark 16. This devotional is a daily resource for those who are pressing in for healing and breakthrough, whether for yourself or for a loved one. We trust that as you go on this journey, your faith will be enlarged and strengthened! Our prayer is that you will move into the space of divine health and freedom which is our inheritance as sons and daughters of the King of Kings!
A big congratulations on making a decision to follow Jesus. We believe that the journey of getting to know Jesus is best done in community. You probably have many questions, that’s why we’ve developed this 31-day guide to help you grow in your relationship with Jesus, and also to help you find your place in church.
10 Week Journey.
Although the outline is presented as a 10 week course, it is preferable to allow the Holy Spirit to lead you, and if more time is needed, then make that a priority. The purpose of the gospel of John, as stated by John himself, is to show that Jesus of Nazareth was Christ, the son of God, and that believers in him might have eternal life. As you go through the 10 weeks, may you allow the notes and discussion points to help foster meaningful conversations that are centered around making the most of who Jesus is.
This resource will take you on a journey through the most important aspects of being an effective connect group leader. Connect groups are so much more than a good church strategy or a nice idea to build community. Since the beginning of the early church in Acts people have met together in each other’s homes, and will probably continue to do so until Jesus returns.
A 30 day challenge to Hope and Faith. Many people today view having faith as blind faith. View the Bible as outdated. And do not have Biblical responses to the current narratives of the day. This workbook helps to address this.
